As of 2:45 PM EST today, December 20, 2015, the movie has made over $258 million , destroying previous records. Opening day the movie grossed a whopping $120.5 million ($57 million from Thursday night previews), shattering Harry Potter: Deathly Hollows Part II ‘s $91.1 million (2011). The ratings for the movie are going through the roof too. Imagine that, a movie living up to the hype.
