It is officially Shark Week again on the Discovery Channel! While there may be some “Shark Horror”, there’s a lot to be learned for this epic week. It seems each year, The Discovery Chanel talks more about the plight of these top predators. For that, many are grateful because sharks are essential to a healthy ecosystem.

Sharks help to keep other creatures population at healthy levels and keep the system balanced. They tend to feed on the more weak and unhealthy fish which helps to prevent the spread of disease throughout the fish population. Sharks are at the top of the food chain and play a crucial role in keeping the food chain balanced.

Humans actually pose a greater threat to sharks — and just about every other species (including their own) — than sharks pose to us. Maybe Discovery Chanel should consider HUMAN WEEK where they portray all the terribly violent attacks they make against  their own species  and  all others every day.

Ha!

Anyway, below are examples of some amazing shark tattoos done by some very talented artists ranging in different styles.
