Are you a tattoo artist? Do you create other kinds of art when you are not tattooing? If you answered yes to both of those questions, consider entering our contest to design the cover of our magazine!

The magazine will be available October 2015. The magazine will showcase our tattoo artist features up to October 2015, top tattoos from the past year, and more.

UPDATE JULY 9, 2015: You speak, we listen. As a result of some of the discussions we’ve had with artists here’s some updates:

1. Deadline extended to July 31st. All other elements have been extended as well (see timeline below).

2. Just submit artwork we can provide the text (unless you would like to). Our graphics background lead to some confusing communication barriers — Sorry about that! Thus, we’ll handle all the formatting and anything in-between, just supply the art. You’ll still have full control and a final say on the end-product. We’ll just assist more on the graphic end.

3. Again, only have to submit high resolution art… Don’t worry about the text elements (see Required Elements below).

If you wish to enter, you must submit your file by 11:59 PM EST July 31, 2015.

We will select our top 10 picks and put them in a Facebook album on Monday, August 3rd.

The photo with the most likes at noon Monday, August 10th will the be the lucky winner.

The 9 remaining covers will be featured inside the magazine with the artist’s name, location, and website.

All submissions entered will be placed in a gallery on our website once the contest is complete.

What We Want

We want you take a vintage concept and make it your own with your own style and the medium of your choice. You do not have to use any elements from the art on the Pinterest board linked below – these are just ideas / styles / eras we like. If you follow us, you know that we like a variety of art styles… Hopefully this serves as a place for inspiration and not confusion. 😉

Required Elements

1. You must have the text: Perfect Tattoo, A Year Of Perfection Vol. 1 as the title, in whatever format you choose. As long as those words are incorporated and easily read, we’re good. Perfect Tattoo should be larger and stand out more than your signature. Basically, Perfect Tattoo should be the largest text on the cover.

2. You must have your name clearly written. You may provide your signature and logo if you so choose, but this is not required. Your signature area should be no larger than 2″ x 3.5″ (the size of a business card). This area may be horizontal or vertical.

3. Items 1 and 2, in addition to your artwork, must fit your artwork in a 8 3/8” x 10 7/8” area. To be safe, set up your art to fit in an 8″ x 10″ area and we will be able to make any necessary adjustments for the cover prior to print.

4. Save your artwork as a high resolution image. If you take a picture of your art with a good camera (and some phone cameras), or use a modern scanner you should be OK. When scanning, if you have the option, select a minimum of 300 dpi. This is not as important at this stage, but will be if you are selected as the winner.

Please e-mail Info@PerfectTattooArtists.com with any questions related to the art, subject: COVER ART QUESTION.
