We selected Art Collison at Walls of Wonder Tattooing in Dover, Delaware, as our tattoo artist for the month of July. Art is a truly versatile artist, building a name in the area for his innate ability to adapt to just about any style of tattooing.
Art enjoyed tattoo magazines growing up. The realistic tattoos of Tom Renshaw and Paul Booth got in him interested in tattooing. He’s now been tattooing for seventeen years!
Art started tattooing at Rainbow Studios in Dover, Delaware. Now, he’s at Walls of Wonder Tattooing and loves it because:
“It’s [Walls of Wonder Tattooing] my own thing. I rent a space: I’m not an employee. I work around good people who do great work. It’s a great atmosphere!”

Art doesn’t have one particular tattoo style he likes more than others. He said he really likes realism, but his favorite part about the industry is the diversity: so many styles to explore.

Art’s Advice For Someone Looking To Get A Tattoo:
“Patience and research. Find the right artist. Good artists are booked, so you’ll have to wait. Get your idea together first, then go to the shop.”
Art’s Advice For A Tattoo Artist Just Getting Started:
“Relax. You’ll mess up. It’s about the final product. …And check your spelling.”
