The upcoming season of Doctor Who , beginning August 23, has many fans restless to see the newest Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi ) in action. So, we figured: what better way to pass the time than checking out Doctor Who tattoos and clips from the show?
Tattoos of the TARDIS (aka “Sexy”)
The Doctor travels in a spacecraft called the TARDIS, an acronym for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. The Doctor’s TARDIS (which is bigger on the inside ) is stuck in the shape of a 1960s-style London police box due to a faulty chameleon circuit.
When the TARDIS’s consciousness briefly inhabited a human body during the episode The Doctor’s Wife , we discovered that the TARDIS is sentient and experiences time non-linearly. We also learned that the Doctor calls his TARDIS “Sexy”… But only when they’re alone.

The Daleks are the doctors “oldest and deadliest enemy.” They are a race of cyborgs created by the evil scientist Davros. He genetically modified his race, integrated them into tank-like robotic shells, and removed their ability to feel pity, compassion, or remorse. The Daleks view themselves as the supreme race of the universe; their interests include universal domination and extermination.

Their origins go back to humanoids on the planet Mondas where humans were implanting more and more artificial parts as a means of self-preservation. Oh yeah, that thing with the Adipose during Partners in Crime … They were these alien creatures made out of living fat. That episode was a little strange, but still great. You know why? There was this one time when the Doctor had to hide out as a human (during the episode Human Nature ). The catch? To make it convincing he had to believe he was a human. So he transferred his Time Lord essence and memories to a fob watch, which he had Martha guard. The tattoo below is that watch.
“Come along Ponds,” sniff … Amy and Rory had some moments that really hit you hard, right in the feels. Like when Rory was the “Lone Centurion” and guarded the box Amy was trapped in for 2,000 years ( The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang ). Amy’s sacrifice to be with Rory in The Angels Take Manhattan was another huge tear-jerker.
